Alana Woods

Queensland-based writer Alana Woods was formerly the Director of Publishing at the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

Automaton is Alana Wood's fourth novel, but the first to be published. She is working on a fifth novel about corporate crime.

Alana has travelled widely for speaking engagements with book clubs, writers' centres and libraries, including the National Library of Australia's summer program of talks in Canberra.

Automaton Fiction. This crime thriller won the 2003 Fast Books prize for Best Fiction. In 2004 it was nominated by Sisters in Crime Australia for the Davitt Awards which are given annually to the best Australian female crime fiction.
